We are looking for multiple Volunteers dedicated to being Event Leads:

We are looking for eager people devoted to:
Volunteering in person for minimum 1 event per month

Position Locations?
Mostly needed in GTA
Toronto
Burlington
Hamilton
Occasional Needs: Brampton, Brantford, Mississauga, Pickering, etc.

This role entails:

  • Being our Key SOS Representative at said events

  • Learning the current SOS ways to be able to speak to it

  • Delegating roles to other SOS event volunteers

  • Selling merchandise -- cash & square reader

  • Keeping dogs + their fosters comfortable during the event

  • Being the key contact for Event Coordinator -- ensuring things are in order and reaching out if assistance needed

  • Sending an after event report to Event Coordinator

Bonus points if you:

  1. Have a car and can pick up event supplies to bring to the event & drop back off when complete

  2. Promote events to your social circles to help grow attendees

Training Includes:

  • Event Volunteer Manual sent to review, and then direct contact with Event Coordinator to ask additional questions.

  • Ideally, attend an event first with a lead SOS representative to get the hang of things before hosting your own!

Events Manager

Vision: A new Events Manager for SOS would come with some understandings on non-profit/Charity events and be able to take their experiences as well as SOS insights and objectives to help SOS be able to create an Events Strategy for the year.

As for preferred experience:

- Experience with fundraising

- Experience with event planning, logistics & coordinating between teams

- Experience leading a team

- Ready to learn, grow and take the lead on a team that is changing with the development of the organization

- Having access to a car is very helpful! And comfortability travelling throughout GTA for events!

The commitment would start first with helping create Event Planning Processes/Procedures that need to be put into writing, working side by side with SOS Executive Director and current Event Coordinators. Then, getting into the mix on SOS events to get the first-hand experience learning the current flow while reviewing areas of importance, before taking on the full role of Managing events and new training of Events team.

Time commitment: 20+ hours a week

Title: Warehouse Coordinator
Team: Transport/Intakes
Time Commitment: 1-2 Visit to PYA (15 Apex Rd, Toronto)/ week

The Warehouse Coordinator works directly with the Supply Coordinator and PYA warehouse team.

Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring the storage area at PYA is kept organized and catalogue supplies.
2. Putting out appropriate supply for pickup, and organizing supplies/donations that have been dropped off.  
3. Communicating with the Supply Coordinator regarding stock, storage and supplies. 

NOTE: This role is best suited to volunteers with daytime weekday, (9am-5pm, Monday- Friday) availability as we operate in the warehouse during business hours ONLY. 
Currently we’re looking for volunteers to fill out our team, with availability on Wednesday- Friday being most ideal!

Position: Alumni Coordinator

You'll be helping keep the team organized. Like an administrator superstar - but for dogs! This position will require 5-10 hours per week.

The role includes:

- Keeping thorough notes and staying organized using Excel

- Checking in on adopters regularly

- Helping organizers with "Pack Walks" for adopters and fosters

- Helping the Alumni Manager with organization of training seminars

- Adding adopters to our SOS Social Media groups

Clinics Team:

Fundraising Co-ordinator (specifically for clinics)

  • This role is specific to Spay & Neuter Clinics to help support the fund-raising efforts to ensure we are able to host multiple clinics internationally. The individual assigned to this role will be organized, operational and have a desire to raise money and support volunteers in doing so. This individual will work closely with everyone within the clinic team. Creativity and willingness to think outside of the box are desired as well as a strong passion to connect with people and organizations. Time commitment 1-2 hours a week.

Community Co-ordinator (specifically for clinics)

  • This role is specific to Spay & Neuter Clinics to help support community outreach, connection and education. This person will work closely with the fundraising co-ordinator to help support volunteers and to represent Save our Scruff and what we do internationally. Creativity and willingness to think outside of the box are desired as well as a strong passion to connect with people and organizations. Time commitment 1-2 hours a week.

Travel Co-ordinator (specifically for clinics)

  • This role is specific to Spay & Neuter Clinics to help support the clinics logistically. Everything from organizing flights to accommodations to where we should eat and what we should do. This person will work closely with all roles within the Spay & Neuter team as well as with transport and supplies. Creativity and willingness to think outside of the box are desired as well as a strong passion to connect with people and organizations. Time commitment 1-2 hours a week.
